I moved from a very small town and school to Ft Dodge the summer before jr high. Laurie was one of the first friends I made at South, which was a very scary place for me at that time. She was a great confidant. I could always count on her to listen when I needed to talk, and I tried to do the same for her. One of my fondest memories of her is her sliding down the halls in her "footies"... she always wore them instead of shoes in school. We grew apart in high school and I lost track of her. When I finally reconnected with her sister Leanne a couple of years ago, she had been gone for about a year. I will always have a hole in my heart for not finding her sooner. She fought cancer for many years before it finally got the best of her, and I will always regret not being there for her.
