Aaron Dean Grimsley

Aaron Dean Grimsley, 62, of Sioux City, IA, passed away January 18, 2024, at his home after an extended illness. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Aaron was born on October 4, 1961, in Fort Dodge, IA to Lawrence and Donna (Holland) Grimsley.  He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1980, where he participated in basketball, football and track. He went on to attend the University of South Dakota where he was a member of the Coyote football team. After college, Aaron worked part time at Miles Inn, then for Messer Distributing (later Glazer’s), where he developed his fondness for Coors. Most recently, Aaron was working as a pipe insulator traveling throughout the country. He loved working and his union brothers.

Aaron enjoyed cooking, riding his Harley, golfing, playing pool and darts, and his dog, Husker. Aaron’s generosity will continue through his gift of organ and tissue donation.

On December 22, 2016, he married the love of his life Mandy Brewer, who passed away in April 2023.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters: Caitlin Grimsley (Andrew Irwin) of Coralville, IA and Shelby Grimsley (Jay Westendorf) of Sergeant Bluff, IA; granddaughter, Harper Grimsley; sisters: Valerie Grimsley, Ilona Jordison, and Andrea Grimsley, and close friends, Tim and Deb Iverson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mandy Grimsley, brother Bruce Grimsley, and a niece Naomi Jordison.

His daughters would like to thank all of Aaron’s dear friends who supported him throughout his illness. We hope all his friends will enjoy a cold Coors in honor of Aaron a/k/a A-Train, Big A, Grims, and Dad.
