Julie K. Roest, 62, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday December 4, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a sudden and unforgiving illness.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday December 12, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Barnum. A visitation will be Monday December 11, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the church.
Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Robert "Bob" Roest, their daughter Cassandra Roest and her partner Oscar De La Cruz, her twin grandboys Aundre & Andrik "Riko" Roest and newest grandboy Julien K. De La Cruz - Roest joining the family in February 2024.


Julie is also survived by seven of her siblings, Cindy (Mike) McColley, Doug Crimmins, Shirl (Greg) Smith, Pat (Dave) Day, Tom Crimmins, Jane (Mark) Graybill, and John Crimmins; along with many nieces and nephews.


Julie is preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine B. Crimmins (Sorenson) in 2008, father, Clifford E. Crimmins in 2010, nephew, Shawn Crimmins in 2019, and brother, Ralph James "Jim" Crimmins in 2022.
Julie Kae Crimmins was born to Clifford and Geraldine (Sorenson) Crimmins on November 1, 1961, in Fort Dodge. She attended the catholic school system and later graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1980. Following high school she attended Burnell's Beauty School. On September 14, 1985, Julie was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Roest and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Their daughter Cassandra joined them in April of 1990. They moved as a family to a few places including Des Moines and Grimes, IA; Las Vegas, NV; and eventually found themselves back in Fort Dodge in late 1999 where they resided at the time of her passing.


Julie spent majority of her career at Northwest Bank and later Wells Fargo. She was currently employed at Iowa Central Community College working as a clerk in the Fuel Testing Laboratory.
