The following is a quote from his sister Shirl;

Blessed we were to be siblings of nine. With shattered hearts, we will struggle to be eight. Your enthusiasm in life was too much for your tired body. Mom and Dad's wild one has been the first to heaven's gate. Our faith in God will get us through, but the hole you leave is vast. Be at peace our sweet and loving brother, dad, grandfather, and uncle. Until we are all together again, give the folks our love and hugs. Jim, you will forever be in our hearts, thoughts, and precious memories. Goodbye, and may God's love bring you peace that life could not.
